The Pin

Yesterday, the bloodmobile was at work again. I always look forward to donating blood. I started way back when I was in college. I look forward to it each time the bus is scheduled to come to work. If it doesn’t fit into my work schedule I get kind of bummed. But this time I didn’t have any work preventing me from donating, yay! The last couple of months have been kind of blah. A lot has been going on. I’ve been feeling like I can’t get enough done, that I need to do more. But I wanted to, needed to take the time to donate blood, to help others. So, I am done with the interview portion and I am sitting in the chair all set up while my donation is being collected. I’m happy that I am not sick and my hemoglobin was not low today so I am able donate. It’s a good day! Not to long into the collection process I am told that I am getting my 5 gallon pin today. A huge sense of accomplishment came over me. Words cannot express how it lifted me. I donate to help others. This time, it helped me when I really needed it!

Six gallon pin, here I come.

Chilly November day

It’s a chill Saturday this November 2. Snowflakes are floating down, not accumulating thank goodness. The wind is blowing leaves around. I’m enjoying watching the wildlife out the window going through our recently cropped corn field. So far we’ve had three deer including a beautiful six point buck and a group of 20 turkeys. I am currently waiting for my first youtube video to load. My daughter and I had fun melting crayons on warm rocks this last week and we are sharing our experience. Hope to have new info on the website soon.

Hope you come back to check it out!
