Crayon Rocks

crayon melting on rocks

My daughter and I enjoy doing this activity together. It’s so easy to do! On a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper lay out a couple of rocks that have been cleaned. Put them in the oven at 250-300 degrees for 10-15 minutes. With an oven mitt on pull out the cookie sheet. We place trivets on the kitchen table to hold the cookie sheet. Being careful not to touch the cookie sheet or rocks, hold a crayon on a rock and watch it melt. On grey rocks the color turns out darker but when you use a white crayon it’s magic! You can always start out with a white crayon and add a different color to that. Have fun adding and mixing different colors! I am going to go do it again right now!!

My daughter created this beautiful rock.
This is my creation. This is such a quick and easy craft that is different every time you do it.
SO much FUN!
